Snapshot from around 1967.

Ron Doleman, Kate McGarrigle, Christopher Weldon circa 1967

Just found this pic in an email to Kate in 2006 sent on a server I seldom use. I took it around 1967 outside where I lived. Sorry for the poor quality. It was a slide that was scanned.

Helene de Montigny, my room mate and fellow Beaux-Arts student, McGill students: Ron Doleman, Kate McGarrigle, and her boyfriend Chris Weldon on m’cycle, Daniel Couvreur, also at the Beaux-Arts, outside 1817 rue St Luc Montréal now deMaisonneuve W. where Helene and I lived. Chris always called her Catherine and his nickname was Colossus. Before Matapedia became known as such it was the Ballad of Catherine and Colossus.

It was a beautiful ceremony this afternoon and the park + artwork will be an oasis in the Laurier Street boutique area. I look forward to the growth of greenery/flowers
which were her favourites. And the family song so a propos! Merci for sharing this special day with all of us, fans and passerbys. It was truly a celebration and recognition of her many talents.
I used to go to your family (and those of rufus)concerts at Theatre Outremont and am looking to seeing the film this evening.

This photograph has something. I’d like to see more clearly aside from being an association piece there’s the bike and a view of the city, it’s a very good document. Possible to get someone to make a better print or scan of it? Regards, Julian

Do you have Ron Doleman’s telephone number or email? He looks like the guy I was in CUSO Malaysia with during 1968-70.

Don’t know how frequently you look at this, Anna, but if you have a contact for Ron could you forward it.
    Thanks,
    hanford
